Are there other uses for 28 second oil central heating oil)?

stribs_35 asked:

I have a tank with about 840 lt of 28 second heating oil but no longer have a oil fired boiler, what other uses can this oil be put to?
Note 28 second oil is NOT legal or desirable to be used in diesel engine. 35 second oil or gas oil is required although TVO (gas oil with red dye) is not legal for road use.

Mabs asked:

The red light is flashing on the hot water indicator (D.H.W Demand Indicator) for my boiler which is a Worcester 24 cdi. The Hot water and the central heating are both not working. Any advice of what checks i could make before calling out for a plumber ?

Thanks

I live in MN and don’t have a conventional furnace so house is heated by boiler. Looking for anything that will work except for window units. Wall units may be good?

central heating pump?

Denise s asked:

Hi
Sounds silly but we cant find our central heating pump. Any suggestions as to where it can be? We have looked near the tank, under the floor boards near the tank, in the loft, under the stairs, under the bath, near the boiler.

Is it possible that we haven’t got a pump and the heating runs some other way?. It is a back boiler system and we can only get heat upstairs, which isn’t very warm, water heats up fine. When we put the heating on it doesn’t seem to fire up like it used to, its very quiet.

Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

We think it may be boxed in behind a wall ,,, hmm - we only moved here end of last year and it is the house that Jack built! Getting the hammer out now ahh
Well we have finally found the pump under the floor boards in the bedroom!! gave it a few taps with a mallet and hey presto it worked, just have the job of putting the floorboards back and the carpet!
thanks for your help people
D

Mary
