However, many people decide that early winter is a good time to make sure their boiler is in full working order, and are then faced with a long wait because every boiler engineer in the country is busy servicing, repairing and installing new boilers because everyone had the same idea.

The best time, therefore, to have your boiler serviced is in the summer or early autumn months when demand is lower. This will give you peace of mind that probably the most important piece of equipment in your home is in full working order and ready to serve you through the cold winter period.

What does a boiler service involve?

As well as dealing with any problems that you report and replacing any worn parts, the CORGI boiler engineer will carry out a visual internal and external inspection to check there is no visible damage to the boiler. If any evidence of damage is found then the relevant replacement or repair will be made.

Whilst the engineer that fitted your boiler or repaired it for you previously may well have diarised to contact you in a year’s time for an annual service, this doesn’t mean you can ignore any problems that may arise in the meantime until that service comes round.
