query about central heating?

waller h asked:

Hello friends,
I recently got my boiler replaced with a new ‘A’ rated glow worm one.I have observed that my central heating starts in no time only when I put my hot water on.If I only start central heating, it doesn’t seem to heat up the radiators.I have set the room thermostat to 22 C .Any ideas please.
Thanks guys for all ur answers apprantly found out that the lever in diverter valve wan’t switching from HW to CH.I moved it manually and CH worked fine.Just wanted to know if I can keep moving it manually everyday for CH to work or is it not safe?

Irene

The wrong pipes anyway you should have the company that installed repairing it for free of course.

The system may have vapor lock.

Sounds like you have air in the lines and there is a vapor lock in the system. This is common in boiler replacements and new installations. If the air can be removed at a high point in the piping then you shouldn’t have any more problems.
